These cat sketches are after my mom’s cat Little Mu…he’s such a comical cat that I’ve been doodling him for the past years (since he was brought home, actually). He’s a cheery soul and happy with the world–perfect for this almost new year 🙂
Today was spent assembling more of the bits of canvases and tomorrow shall begin the journey of canvas stretching! A trip to Lowe’s was made as well to purchase another band clamp to hasten the process a smidge (now I can glue 2 canvases at once) as well as a splurge on nail punches (ha!).
Today was spent working on more canvases (11 total, on top of my mid-semester building where I made 10…that will keep me busy!) and …. drumroll of excitement! …. cleaning! Woooo! At least the first part of the day was fun 🙂
I thought some works in progress may be called for…as well as the canvas stretching marathon, I, yesterday and today, got a wee bit of painting time in as well. These are a few images of the past few days works in progress. Some of the doodles a day have been worked into final pieces. These are 8×10 wooden supports, acrylic paint with mixed media.
Today was spent stretching canvases. The canvas-a-thon started by 8:30 this fine morning and stretched (pun partially intended….ha!) until around 6 o’clock this evening. After a food break, I decided the time was nigh to see The Hobbit (I’ve seen the LotR triology and other 2 Hobbit movies in the theatre, so why break a good thing?)…overall was happy with it (*sniffle* a bit at the end…couldn’t help it!)
What could be better than a cat….snowboarding?! ‘Tis the season 🙂
Today was a busy day that started with a trip to Lowes for some wood for new canvases. Then it was off to the studio to start the construction of said canvases. All in all, there will be about 15 new ones built for this next series. Exciting! I can’t wait to get started on them.
